NADA India undertakes testing and anti-doping education efforts for the Indian Contingent participating in the upcoming Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China

NADA India is committed to promoting clean sports practices in the national and international sporting arena. In line with the international standards and in coordination with international agencies, NADA India is conducting extensive testing for Indian athletes participating in the upcoming Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China. This is an endeavour to both create deterrence against doping amongst athletes and detect any anti-doping rule violations.

Furthermore, to safeguard the rights of the athletes, ensure a doping-free sporting environment and increase awareness on anti-doping, NADA India is hosting cluster-based workshops for the participating athletes and support personnel. The NADA India team is orienting the athletes about the doping control process, therapeutic use exemption process, rights & responsibilities of athletes, WADA’s prohibited substances & methods list and measures that one may take to ensure fair play. This is one of the key steps towards providing necessary, relevant and authentic information on anti-doping to the participants.

Mr. Vimal Anand, DG & CEO, NADA India also hosted a special meeting with the participating National Sports Federations, in collaboration with the Indian Olympic Association, to highlight the importance of clean sports and urge stakeholders to ensure that athletes and support personnel follow all anti-doping guidelines. Mr. Anand has also been addressing the athletes and support personnel during the awareness workshops.
