WADA’s list of Prohibited substances for 2025, lists substances and methods banned from sport. Some of these are prohibited at all times. Others are prohibited only in-competition. There are some which are sport specific. It does not matter when you take a substance, if it is prohibited in-competition and it is found in your system you may face a ban. WADA’s 2025 Monitoring Programme also lists substances currently being monitored for potential misuse. The Prohibited List for 2026 will come into effect on January 1, 2026.

In accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code, National Anti-Doping Rules, 2021 govern conditions under which sport is played. They enforce anti-doping principles according to global standards and represent a global consensus on what is necessary to ensure fairness in sport.
The World Anti Doping Code harmonizes anti-doping policies, rules and regulations within sport organizations and among public authorities around the world. It follows eight international standards to ensure consistency among anti-doping organizations across the world.
